Hello everyone! How are you all? I hope you all are doing well.
I’m creating this blog for all CA students regarding the upcoming CA results. As you may already know, one of our ICAI Council Members had tweeted that the result is expected to be declared by the first week of July.
Now, what kind of result it will be, how much the pass percentage will be — this post is focused on analyzing and estimating the possible outcomes based on past trends and how things may shape up this time.
Past Results Analysis: Foundation & Intermediate
Let’s first take a quick look at the previous three attempts for CA exams:
- May/June 2024
- September 2024
- January 2025
For CA Foundation, the pass percentages were:
- January 2025: 21.52%
- September 2024: 19.67%
- May/June 2024: 14.96%
So clearly, CA Foundation results have been improving steadily, and I expect the upcoming result to continue this positive trend. ICAI seems inclined to pass more students, provided the quality of answers is up to the mark.
Only you know how well your exams went — whether you’ll be among the passing 20–22% or not.
Student Feedback on Papers
Most students felt that the papers were fair, except for Mathematics or Quantitative Aptitude, which many found tough. Whether it was genuinely difficult or not is best judged by students and teachers.
So while expectations are high, the final result for CA Foundation may still be uncertain due to the Quantitative Aptitude paper.
CA Intermediate Results – Trends from Previous Attempts
Let’s now talk about CA Intermediate:
January 2025 Attempt:
- Group 1: 14.17%
- Group 2: 22.16%
- Both Groups: 14.05%
September 2024 Attempt:
- Group 1 & Group 2: Fair results
- Both Groups: Extremely low at just 5.66%
May 2024 Attempt:
- Group 1: 27%
- Group 2: 18.28%
- Both Groups: Around 18.42%
Estimated Results for May 2025 Attempt
Based on past data, I’ve made the following expectation for the May 2025 results:
CA Foundation:
Expected pass percentage: 22% to 25%
The trend supports this prediction, and 22% seems a reasonable estimate based on previous improvement.
CA Intermediate:
- Group 1: 15% to 18%
- Group 2: 20% to 25%
- Both Groups: 12% to 15%
Again, these are purely estimations based on trends and not official figures.

What Should You Do in These 20 Days Before Results?
Whether you’re a CA Foundation or CA Intermediate student, this 20-day period is usually filled with anxiety. You’re not sure what to do while waiting for results.
By now, you’ve probably taken your break — gone out, watched TV and movies, scrolled social media — everything.
Now is the perfect time to prepare smartly.

For CA Foundation Students
If you’re confident that your result will be positive — and usually, you have a fair idea after writing the exam — then here’s what you should be doing:
- Start researching classes for Intermediate
- Decide between online and face-to-face learning
- Gather reviews of faculties from seniors
- Ask about their past results, test schedules, and teaching methods
After results are declared, classes begin within a week. If you wait until then to start searching, you may rush and make the wrong decision. That’s why early research is important to avoid stress later.
For CA Intermediate Students
You have a lot more to manage in these 20 days. Hopefully, you’ve already registered and started your IT/OC (Information Technology and Orientation Course) training.
If not, do it immediately.
Once your result is out and you’ve passed, you’ll need these trainings completed before starting Articleship. If not done, it will delay your Articleship and eventually your Final CA attempt.
So:
- Find the latest IT/OC batch and enroll ASAP
- Start researching about Articleship — where to do it, which firms to target
- Decide if you want to work in Big 4, Top 20 Firms, or mid-sized firms
- Work on your resume
- Talk to your seniors about different domains (Audit, Tax, etc.)
- Decide based on your long-term goal — whether you plan to go into practice or a corporate job
Getting Articleship – Be Prepared Early
After the result, things move very fast. Students get stuck finding firms, and many reach out asking for help because they can’t get placed.
That’s why preparation in advance is essential.
If you get an opportunity to intern under a CA, even unpaid, go for it — you’ll learn something valuable, your time won’t be wasted, and it will help divert your mind from result stress.
